Our Story

An invitation. A delicious meal. A good conversation and a laugh. At The Granola Bar, we believe these simple moments are the antidote to our hectic, modern lives. We’re here to welcome you in, feed you well, and make you feel cared for—every time you walk through our doors.

Chapter 1

The Birthday Party Meet-Cute

We, Dana and Julie, first met at a kids’ birthday party. Between raising kids and running our own careers, we kept dreaming about a place that felt like home—but better. We started small, making granola in our own kitchens and selling it at local markets. People loved it. Before we knew it, we were opening our first café, and from there our vision grew into something bigger: a community where everyone feels welcome, nourished, and inspired to stay awhile.

Chapter 2

Home Away From Home

We wanted The Granola Bar to feel like the spot you can drop into anytime—no planning, no pressure. Somewhere the coffee’s great, the food’s fresh and a little addictive, and the welcome’s always warm. Think avocado toast worth texting your friends about, cocktails that turn “just one” into a night out, and a space where you can show up as you are.

Chapter 3

From One Table to Many

That first café turned into a growing family of restaurants across Connecticut, New York, and Long Island. Each one has its own flavor, but the heart is the same: feed people well, make them feel at home, and never take ourselves too seriously. We’re still in it every day—tasting, tweaking, laughing, and making sure The Granola Bar stays exactly the kind of place we dreamed about.
